Sirens
The Voice That Calls You Off Course
Seduction, distraction and the sweetness that pulls you away from the life you actually chose.
Temptation → Awareness → Choice → Self-possession

Mythic Core
The Sirens sang from the rocks, and the sailors who heard them steered toward the sound until their ships broke on the shallows. Odysseus alone heard the song and lived, because he had himself bound to the mast: hearing everything, and able to act on none of it.
The Siren is not an enemy outside you. It is the voice of everything that promises relief from the difficulty of your own course: the easier pleasure, the flattering attention, the beautiful distraction. It never lies about the sweetness. It only hides the rocks.
Can you hear the call fully, and still keep your hands on the helm?
Light & Shadow
The same current, running two ways
The song, heard consciously
Met consciously, the pull toward beauty and pleasure becomes taste, vitality and the courage to want what you want.
“I can want deeply and still choose freely.
When you steer by the song
Followed blindly, the same pull becomes distraction and escape: the quiet leaving of the course you actually chose.
“Just a little longer on the rocks.
The Four Positions
Where the Siren meets you on the Hero's Path
I · Origin
The open ear
You arrive with a strong pull toward beauty and longing. You may organise your life around what enchants you, before you have learned to steer.
II · Path of Growth
The test of direction
Life offers easier loves, softer exits, brighter distractions. You learn the difference between what nourishes you and what only sedates you.
III · Threshold
Hands on the helm
You must hear the call fully and still hold your course. The danger is not the pleasure, but using it to avoid what your path requires.
IV · Unclaimed Power
The true appetite
The Siren returns as restlessness and the search for the next thrill. Behind it waits your capacity to want what is genuinely yours.
Body & Movement
How the Siren moves in the body
The Siren lives in the body as appetite: for touch, rhythm, beauty and surrender. Met consciously, it becomes vitality and taste. In shadow, the body chases stimulation and cannot rest inside a single, chosen movement.
Stay with the movement long enough for pleasure to become presence.
In shadow, the body
The Lesson
You do not have to stop hearing the song. You only have to choose whether to steer by it.
The question you carry
What would you finally move toward, if the sweetest distraction lost its power to decide for you?
